The Power of the Unexpected

Check out my 3 part video series where I show VIDEO PROOF on how I increased visitor traffic to this blog by over 3600% in ONE WEEK!

First off allow me to say that I originally saw this video on another blog post and I thought it was SO amazing that I had to share my thoughts on the subject. I found myself laughing, dancing, and crying (yah I know… not to sexy for a 31 year old middle aged man at 11pm in front of his monitor…) but for reasons that maybe aren’t so apparent to most.

See, for me the last two years have felt like hell – literally. A failed business, $20M plus in personal assets lost to the bank due to a business failure that also caused over $13M in outstanding business liabilities. I had the repo guys show up during dinner with my young family, the court representatives serve me with countless lawsuits, AND the constable come and deliver the eviction papers on the home that was already foreclosed on. Through that process I forgot how to live – how to enjoy life – how to be happy.

Things have been getting MUCH better with time, but the sting of that time frame is still apparent. Throughout that entire ordeal my wife and I have grown closer to each other and our love for each other has grown stronger… much stronger. For that sweet reason I cried.

This song is one of my favorite of all time. For that reason I danced.

This video brought out the joy that I know we are all meant to experience. For that reason I laughed.

Thanks to the folks over at Outspoken Media for sharing this. It was a great “pick me upper” for sure. Check out their original blog post here.

My last two years are very similar to yours. It was more difficult than the debilitating illness of autism that I had faced prior to all of our financial bleeding. Depression set in and I became the biggest liability to everyone around me. I discovered that when faced with autism, I made a conscience decision that it WOULD NOT be the horrible future that doctors made it out to be. I said it!! I did something about it. I succeeded and learned along the way. This time around, I failed to make the same decision about our financial future and allowed the despair to run my life. I too, forgot how to live and to be happy. I was always telling people that autism was much easier than what we were dealing with. What a lie I was telling myself. It wasn’t easier at all. Time does heal many wounds and, in my case, a broken ego. The most important thing is to make the decision to do something about it. Life will go on. Thank you for this post and the reminder to just be happy!!

Thanks for sharing about your experiences over the last two years. I checked out your blog and hope everything works out for you and wish you success in your endeavors to help parents deal with the challenges in their lives.

All very nice comments. Thanks Justyna for the compliment on the blog. I try :)

Awsome video, I enjoyed it very much. Money is a comodity and by far if you really look at it, unimportant. What is Important is life and how you live it. Make it the best day you can think of:)

Thanx for sharing!

Thanks for sharing this great video. As I’m watching the video prior to reading your story, I found myself going through the exact same emotions you experienced as the past 12 months have been quite difficult for myself and business but nothing compared to what you’ve been through. Although I would prefer never to have to go through hardship, experiences like these makes us stronger in the long run. Thanks again for the inspiration.

This is an incredible video full of passion.

Thanks so very much for sharing this content.

Yes, wasn’t that the greatest. It plastered a smile across my face from ear to ear, and gave me a fantastic joyful pick-up for the day.
I too shared w/my friends on FB, etc., because I wanted them to “experience” it, also!
All the best to you!

After this…….Weddings will NEVER BE THE SAME!

What a cute video……

not big deal at all

Thanks so much for sharing! This brightened my day and made me think — why don’t we do things out of the norm more often– and just have fun — and be joyful and dance throughout life! I’m sorry for the obstacles you have faced – but know without a doubt turning the obstacles we face into opportunities to do things like grow closer to a spouse etc is required for our growth and to take us to the next level and purpose meant for our life. Congrats on growing closer to your wife — too often it is just the opposite and then you have a broken family on top of the other issues! What an inspiration you are! Let’s all use this to motivate us to dance and enjoy the moments we have in life regardless of the struggles we are going through. Wishing you many blessings – much success, happiness & joy!

What a hoot:) And what a great story. It never ceases to amaze me that solid ideas can appear in the most unusual form and in unexpected places. I truly appreciate you for sharing your sincere message.

I was watching that video with a big smile on my face and a lovely feeling inside and I actually thought I don’t feel this much anymore.
Its great to laugh, smile and have fun we all need to do more of it.
Thanks for sharing.

That was fantastic. Thanks so much!

Truly unexpected .. truly inspirational. I found myself so joyful for that 5:08, it really erased all the problems of the day. I hope the couple is happy and when their children are born .. they come out dancing !

I thought this video was a hoot. My wedding was pretty non-traditional, too. But no dancing in the aisles. Why didn’t I think of that?

That video caught me off guard but it was a pleasant surprise. Brightened up my day.

And hence the title or the post! I’m glad you enjoyed my friend… :)

WOW. Couldn’t stop watching it, had me laughing and crying (glad you admitted the same :-) Makes me want to get married all over again just to do it with more joy!

I saw this wedding video with Chris Brown’s Music Playing in the background on CNN and Headline News. What an amazing wedding! I wonder who was the choreographer. Great Video! Thanks for sharing.

What a great video!

I think we all need to just have more fun…

If everyone would have the same attitude of the people in the movie and just have fun instead of complaining about the economy, their jobs, spouses…etc. everything would be better…

Thanks for sharing the video and all the best in your future business ventures.

It takes a big person to admit what you admitted and share how you have. Thankyou its nice to have that human element.

Great video. Thanks for sharing, and your blog post was very passionate and credible! I hope things turn around for you and that you continue to go forward!!!

That was uplifting and very much reminded me of Four Weddings & A Funeral! It was THAT good. Thanks for sharing and I’ve given it (and your blog) a plug on facebook and Twitter so thanks again! Never give up!

Great story…I suffered through something similar with the real estate market. I turned to internet marketing, but suffered for a while while I learned the ropes. Glad to hear that your queen stood by your side, I can not say the same, but just like you…things have gotten a lot better.

NOW THATS HOW YOU MAKE AN ENTRANCE!!! BRAVO!!

Yes videos do go viral.

Thanks for sharing video on twitter.Nice post and apriciate it

Gabe,
Thanks for this post! Your words sum up my thoughts and feelings. Life is made up of what you see in your photo albums or in this case your family video. The stuff of the past are tough lessons we all go through that teach us to realize how priceless those albums and videos really are. The lessons are all taught different for each of us but the intended outcome is very much the same. Some of us have to lose money, fame or fortune, while others have to deploy to war, be apart or see death, to learn what really matters. May God bless you and your’s, my brother, I know he has.
Paul
